The hidden figure in the background makes me shift uncomfortably. Makes me wish my computer was facing the other way so I could see everything in the room.
It's like reading a great short story...with so many hidden symbols..I'm liking sitting and thinking what these could mean...but argh i don't know. That's what makes it superb.
First of all, the teary eyes, no eyebrows, the smudged red lipstick, neatly trimmed fingernails, wedding ring, and blood? in the ear. Maybe she's deaf? Maybe the shadowy figure is calling out to her and she can't hear him?(perhaps it is herself from the past???) the door is opened but the curtain is very still which seems suffocating and very very quiet.
AND the boots. Dirty black boots on white mattress is contrasting. I wonder whose boots are those. And the dress the lady is wearing is very very interesting. There is no neckline, no sewing line, nothing. Everything is white (blank). And her hair...it's very neat and tidy unlike the smudged lipstick and bloody ear.
It's like everything is neat, orderly and controlled but underneath the surface everything is in chaos.
At first i thought she was a mother who is waiting for her lost child. Then I thought maybe a housewife having a secret affair. Or maybe she is like every other woman except that underneath the surface she is insane and has a dark past. Or maybe she is all of those things...
Wow! the comment is getting long. I 'm just going to stare at this piece by myself. I really enjoy (imagining) this story. Thank you so much for sharing!
from your entire gallery my favite because it makes me imagine an entire story about this scenne that seems brought from a tragedy hidden in the past of that woman
